Ghassan- I am ogign to look at the effects that gang and crime movies have on soceity. I watched Godfather and Friend ( a south korean film). Although actual statisctis are hard to find, i can make pretty good assumptions. UGH this is so hard mr bigue!!

Lourenz- the cinema verite of the Italian Neorealism in Italy such as in "The Bicycle Thief" compared to the American Neorealism style such as "Naked City" or the New York Style type of movies that reflects upon the economical effect of WWII and the change in people's likings of movies to reality.


Liz- Narrative Technique and how it affects the viewers perception of the character: Pulp Fiction and Amores Perros

Carlos- the social-realism and the representation of crime and poor life conditions inThe Harder they come and City of God.

Jason - A study of how color establishes characters and peoples: Tsotsi and Sin City.

Laura - The manisfestation of magical realism in Like Water for Chocolate and Amelie.

Nathaniel- Looking at the symbolic meaning of American King Kong and Gojira (Godzilla) in Japan, and how their different styles allude to their version of sci-fi films. How does the monsters play off the crowd's expectations, and how it has evolved since the originals.

Justina Wonger- History of Samurai films, Icons, and how the portrayal of Samurais have changed. Films: The Last Samurai and Yojimbo

Bianca- Cinematography and the mis en scene of the battle scenes, and settings in the films: 300 and Gladiator
